I got me a SonyEricsson w900i mobile phone. The feature list is as full as ever and as usual they didn't do the integration thing the way it should have been done. I just want to point out one of the stupidest thing here. The side buttons. More and more side buttons are added to the phones now. And in many cases it's a good idea. Remember when the finally got around to adding the separate on/off button? Wow! Or added the volume controls? Niceness...Anyway, the have now added buttons for key-lock, walkman, zoom/volume/track, camera, browsing shortcut, video-phone mode and shortcut collection. Most of these are actually really good and valid. The key-lock is great; the shortcut collection can be used to fast switch application and so on.But why make them multifunctional? And I don't mean having the volume buttons work as zoom buttons in camera mode, that actually makes sense. Here it is done with timing how long I press it. The volume buttons will suddenly be a next/previous song when I press it just a tad to long. I have more devices that use this kind of operation and usually it's a really, really bad idea. But I haven’t gotten to the worst part yet. You see, the buttons adds up along the side of the phone nice and stable. But what do you think happens when the screen unfolds? Well it's turned upside down. And now what happens to the buttons? Well, as you turn the phone around al the buttons change position. You will never quite figure out where they are placed because the move around depending on the mode of the phone. The solution would be really simple. Put the buttons on the screen part instead. That is always facing the same way (well if you don’t like to use it the wrong way around). This problem cant be solved with firmware upgrades and if it would have been caught early in the design it could have been fixed, now they have a production line around this design (used in S700 as well I think) and now it would be expensive to fix...BTW, how do they find those hand models,
