I have been playing with an iPhone for a few weeks now. Just recently got it to play nice with sending MMS (yep) but that not why I write this. The problem is Apples ignorance to some users.

I just upgraded my OS to run native 64bit Vista on my system, just in the works of restoring I installed iTunes, restored all data and settings for my iPhone plugged it in. Well, it did not work. I just got an error telling me to install the 64bit version. Oh, cool, lets do that, after some searching at the apple site I found this little document saying: iTunes for Windows not currently supported on any 64-bit editions of Windows.

So, what should all users of 64bit XP or Vista do then?

Couldn't they at least told me this before I installed it?

I have never liked iTunes very much as it always wants to sell me music I already have and implies that I only have pirated music. It is slow for large collections, well I don't know if 9000 songs (every single one is from my own legal CD ripped to MP3) is large but at least it is to iTunes.

However I was on the point of accepting iTunes shortcomings for the iPhone experience. But where do they [apple] leave me now?
